A brand typeface has to work at sixteen pixels in a browser tab and at six metres on a billboard. Most fail one of those tests — usually the small one.
The wall test
Before we commit, we print the wordmark and a headline at poster size and paste them onto a real street wall in Lisbon. If it still reads between the graffiti, it earns a place in the system.
Wide, but never shy
We love extended typefaces for display — they feel confident and modern — but we always pair them with a calm, highly legible text face so long reads never feel like work.
